What type of course do I want?   

If you want an internationally recognised qualification, choose an FCE, CAE, CPE course. Courses include a free mock exam.

If you want to improve your English for business or work purposes, choose an English for Business or BEC class.

If you want a general English course, choose a course from Beginner up to Proficiency.

If you are a Young Learner ( 12-17 ) , choose from our Teens or Young Adults courses.

Which level should I take?   

We provide a testing and counselling service to help you select the right course at the correct level to suit your needs.    

When can I study at the British Council?   

Both our centres have 16 week Autumn/Winter and Spring courses and 3 week intensive Summer courses. A choice from a variety of days and times is available for our courses. For details of each centre see Warsaw and Krakow. Most classes meet twice a week.   

How do I join a British Council course?   

If you are a new student then you need to take a placement test. You can book your placement test online or by contacting the Customer Services Departments in Warsaw (22 695 59 00/01/61)  or in Krakow (12 428 59 30/39)

How many students are there in a class?   

To ensure effective learning we have usually no more than 12 students in a class.    

How do I take a placement test?   

Testing takes place before the start of each new course. You will need to make an appointment to come to our centre to do the test. The test takes about 1 hour. During that time you will speak to one of our teachers, who will help you choose an appropriate class for you. For further information please contact Etc@britishcouncil.pl.

How much do courses cost?   

A typical semester course of 62 tuition hours costs 2490 PLN. A class hour is 45 minutes.

Payment must be made in full before the start of the course or in two instalments in the time agreed during registration. Payment can be made through a bank or a post office or by a credit card. For more details please contact Etc@britishcouncil.pl.

What materials will I use to study?   

We use modern textbooks and design course materials for the specific needs of our students. We also incorporate the latest computer technology into our courses. In addition to access to the internet, we also use CD-ROM language learning disks developed exclusively for British Council Teaching Centres.

• We will respond to all comments within 2 working days (provided you include your contact details on the form).

2. Your Teacher

• If you have any comments regarding your English lessons we encourage you to first speak directly to your teacher. In most cases this is the easiest way to resolve any potential issues.

3. Customer Services

If having spoken to your teacher you wish to raise a particular issue at a higher level please contact or speak directly to a member of our Customer Service Team (telephone 022 695 59 00, email Etc@britishcouncil.pl.)

• Your complaint will be forwarded to the Teaching Centre Management team and you will be informed about the outcome over the telephone, by e-mail or through a face to face meeting within three working days.
