The Philippine Association for Language Teaching (PALT), in partnership with the British Council, is set to hold a Tri-International Conference on Language Education from December 3-5 at the Manila Hotel.
The Tri-International Conference includes three prestigious international language events including the combined 5th PALT International Conference on Language Education and the Pan Asian Consortium (PAC) Conference from 3 - 4 December, and the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Symposium on 5 December 2009. The Tri-International Conference will be held at the Fiesta Pavilion of the Manila Hotel.
The theme of the conference is “Leadership in Language Education in Asia”. It will highlight the various means of developing leadership potentials in language education in Asia and aims to address the influences and issues that impact language education.
The plenary speakers are a veritable who’s who of the language profession. It includes; Dr David Nunan -- a world-renowned linguist, the world's leading textbook author, and former President of TESOL, the world's largest English Language Teaching association, Penny Ur-- a best selling English language textbook author, Dr. Linda New Levine, a consultant for public school teachers of language learning children and for programs for teaching English as a Foreign Language in both primary and secondary classrooms, and Alan Mackenzie, the British Council Regional Project Training Manager overseeing all English language teacher and trainer training projects in eight countries and territories in East Asia.
Registration Fee for the three-day conference is Php 6,500 for regular participants and Php 5,700 for graduate students. A CHED and Deped Memoranda had been issued for this conference. For more information, please contact the following:
