Cambridge International Primary Programme

The Cambridge International Primary Programme has been created to support teaching and learning in Cambridge centres in the years prior to IGCSE and O levels. In the early years of learning, children should acquire elementary skills and knowledge. This prepares them for the later stages of education and helps them achieve success in learning and life.

The programme helps teachers around the world develop Mathematics, English and Science skills and knowledge in young children. The Primary Programme provides guidance for curriculum development and classroom teaching and learning. It also allows teachers to assess children’s learning as they progress.

The framework forms the core of the Programme and identifies the recommended learning objectives for each year of elementary education in the three core subjects, Mathematics, English and Science. In addition to the curriculum framework, the Primary Programme provides a list of teaching resources.

Detailed information about the Cambridge International Primary Programme, including PDF copies of the Framework documents, can be found on CIE’s public website: www.cie.org.uk/primary

Hard copies of the Curriculum Framework documents and an information leaflet can be obtained from us on request.
