Active Citizens links civil society networks, community leaders and community networks in Pakistan, UK and 22 other countries across the world to deepen trust and understanding within and between communities. Participants become skilled in cross cultural communication and dialogue, and its effective role in community action.

The journey of Active Citizens Pakistan starts by developing the knowledge, skills and attitude required to engage in dialogue and social participation. Skills are developed at two levels –Partnership and Youth development. Young leaders then engage with their local communities through community engagement projects. Partner organisations, local government and community influencers support these young leaders through mentoring, access to resources and technical support.

Linkages are developed with young people in UK and other countries in the region such as Bangladesh and Nepal. Partners and young leaders share experiences of community engagement through dialogue, and become a part of a global network of Active Citizens.
