NOVEMBER 2011
- Application Form goes live to recruit the next Study USA Class
- British Council will visit your campus to deliver presentations on the programme
- British Council will be attend the University/College Career Fairs
DECEMBER 2011
- Deadline for submitting your application is Monday 5 December.
JANUARY 2012
- If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview with the Study USA team and Representatives from NI Colleges and Universities
FEBRUARY 2012
- All students who attended an interview in January will be notified if they are successful, unsuccessful or have been placed on the Study USA reserve list
- If successful, the Study USA team will notify you of the US Colleges on offer; you must then choose three and return your choices to British Council
MARCH 2012
- Matching interviews take place on 8-9 March 2012, with the US Church Executives and British Council to place students at US Colleges
- In late March, students will be notified of their US College offer
APRIL 2012
- Return Acceptance Letter, Contract & I-20 forms to British Council
- Make contact with current Study USA student at US College
- Work hard to pass all exams
- Save some money
MAY 2012
- Complete Admissions Paperwork for US College, and mail to US
- Purchase Study Abroad / Gap Year Insurance Policy
- Post / Email copy of Insurance Policy to British Council
- Save some more money
JUNE 2012
- Notify British Council of final Exam Results – a failure terminates offer of participation
- Complete Visa paperwork and forms
- Pay for US Visa online - $140
- Complete SEVIS online - $200
- Attend Study USA Inductions on 26-27 June 2012.
- Attend Visa Appointment at US Consulate Belfast
- Save every penny available
JULY 2012
- British Council will book US flights
- Go to Doctor and get vaccinations required for US enrollment
- Attend Pre-Departure Briefing
- Save, Save, Save
AUGUST 2012
- Organise Leaving Party
- Change savings into US Dollars
- Fly to the US
