METHODOLOGY
Whatever the type of training, at the Professional Development Unit we follow a set of key training principles:

RELEVANCE

Copyright British Council     Participants become motivated and develop a positive attitude to learning when the training relates to a purpose appropriate to the participants’ needs and interests.

GROUP WORK

Copyright British Council     Collaboration through group work has positive effects on learning, generating more discussion and allowing for purposeful learning. Group work also provides participants with valuable feedback from their colleagues.

LEARNER TRAINING

Copyright British Council     Participants need to become autonomous. Given the appropriate level of support, each person can manage his/her own learning and set their own goals.

ACTIVITIES & MATERIALS

Copyright British Council     Through the use of carefully selected tools and materials, and well-designed role-plays, participants can develop skills that transfer directly to the workplace.

INTERACTIVE LEARNING

Copyright British Council

Interactive team activities help participants to consider new ideas and allow them to apply their developing insights in a controlled but realistic way.

TEAM-BUILDING

Copyright British Council     Training should be fun and enjoyable because this promotes team-building, and ensures that new ideas from the course are more easily recalled back at work.
