about living together
We are all affected by difference. We can worry that there won’t be enough to go round if we allow new groups to join us. We use national borders, religious laws, and historical evidence to keep others at bay. Sometimes we resist the attempts of newcomers or particular groups to help shape our shared future.
Today, it often seems as if the problems of difference are stronger than ever. However, the commitment of ordinary people to understanding difference can make the biggest difference of all. This is why we are committed to Living Together.
Living Together is a major British Council initiative that brings diverse groups together from across Europe, to contribute to the global debate on intercultural dialogue.
The South East Europe region is of critical importance to the UK’s objective of building stability and enhancing security in countries neighbouring the European Union.
Partnerships are the foundation of Living Together. We seek to engage partners in support of each activity and event. Partners will be selected from across Europe.
This section answers a few of the most common questions we've recently been asked about the Living Together project.
