Science Communications Workshop

November 2004

British Council organized a two-day interactive science communication workshop for those whose professional activity is related to science communications. The purpose of the workshop was to develop science communications competence in Lithuania and, hopefully, to establish a network of people interested in science communication.

The workshop highlighted the importance, the most effective forms and ways of science communication. Journalists and PR specialists discussed communication techniques in order to convey a more exact science message to the public, and the scientists developed communications skills while dealing with media people.

The workshop speakers were famous UK journalists and PR experts: Mr. Myc Riggulsford, The Walnut Bureau Director General and Mr. Quentin Cooper, BBC journalist.

Date: 15-16 November 2004
Venue: Reval Hotel Lietuva, Vilnius
