We administer this scheme on behalf of the funding partners, the Open Society Institute, Foreign Commonwealth Office Chevening and University of Leeds. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis in the following areas of specialisation:
MA International StudiesYou must be nationals of and resident in Lebanon. You should have outstanding academic qualifications, VERY good English skills, and, normally, relevant practical experience.
Each scholarship provides one year’s tuition fees at the University of Leeds, a stipend to cover living costs (for one person only), and return air travel from Lebanon.
On completion of the scholarship, you are expected to return to Lebanon to resume your studies or work there.
How to apply
Please click here to download the Guidance Notes for applicants for 2008-2009. The submission dates of the university application form as well as your scholarship application form are between 15 and 31 January at British Council Beirut.
IMPORTANT
It is important that both the scholarship and the University of Leeds application forms be submitted together with the relevant documents in a sealed envelop to the British Council Office Beirut by 31 January.
