November 2004

Lawrence Norfolk visit to Lebanon

In collaboration with El-Bourj Bookshop, The British Council Lebanon organised a Literature visit for the British Contemporary writer Lawrence Norfolk from November 7 to 13, 2004.

Lawrence visited the Lebanese University, the American University of Beirut, the Lebanese American University and the American university of Science and Technology. The visits and discussions with both professors and students were very successful and highly acclaimed.

In addition to these visits a book signing event was held at El-Bourj Bookshop and it was followed by a round table discussion led by both Lawrence Norfolk and Elias Khoury.

Creative Writings

John McRae is a contemporary and unconventional literary figure, a professor of Language in Literature Studies at the School of English Studies University of Nottingham.

Very well known and well sought, Mr. McRae gave a series of lectures at several universities in Lebanon with the agreement of several pre-selected professors and their students.

His visit and lectures had received a successful rating from all the attendees.

John McRae seminars

John McRae lectured in five universities in Lebanon during the first week of March 2002.

His seminars were highly acclaimed by both the professors and the students of the Lebanese American University, the American University of Beirut, the Balamand university, the Beirut Arab University and the Lebanese University.

We are all awaiting his return for some more excitement in English literature.
