Creative Lebanon - Phase 2 - Results - Competition, Exhibition, Lectures October 2004.
We are committed to promoting Lebanese and UK design to local and international audiences with the aim of fostering cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries as well as contributing to shifting and changing perceptions of Lebanon internationally. Creative Lebanon will address the Lebanese Diaspora, young audiences in the UK, and international larger community which has an interest in design.
ADAPO - Association d'Architecture et de Design au Proche Orient, is our partner for Creative Lebanon.
Aim
The aim of Creative Lebanon is to develop a concept/model (exhibition, film, book, website, music, product, poster…) of Lebanese designs that seeks to promote Lebanon as an upcoming and promising country with great potential, which produces designers of international standing.
Structure
Creative Lebanon is a project delivered in two phases, paving the way for the realisation of the winning concept.
Phase 1 of the Creative Lebanon project consisted of a series of seminars and lectures delivered by UK, Lebanese and other Arab experts around the theme of Design's potential to transform international perceptions of a country. 19-20 March 2004. West Hall, Bathish Auditorium, American University of Beirut. Full programme of the two day seminar. A full documentation of the two day seminar is available at the British Council for on-site reference. If interested kindly check with general.enquiries@lb.britishcouncil.org.
