What is Skills@Work?

Integrating employment and skills

Skills@Work

is a 18 country project that promotes internationalism within the vocational education and training sector across South East Europe (SEE) and the UK.

The project will develop skills to support economic growth and a globally competitive Europe. and establish networks and long-term relationships to support the response of governments in SEE to the challenges of employability. It will also help to present the UK as one of the key partners in areas of enterprise, innovation and employment.

What do we want to achieve with Skills@Work?

Skills@Work

will address the long-term systemic challenges by engaging employers in the future of skills development to align education and training provision with the needs of industry.

The project will raise the profile for the skills agenda and equip young people with relevant, transferable skills for employment in a global market. This will contribute to a culture of enterprise and innovation and support and develop European objectives for system reform.

How will we achieve this?

The project currently consists of free main strands: Policy dialogue, College business partnerships, and Skills@Work Challenge.

To find out why vocational education is important why not watch the Skills@work video to learn more about the importance of bridging a gap between the needs of labour markets and the skills gained through vocational education systems. Experts from Europe and Asia stress the importance of engagement in this area and share their views on how it can be done.
