The British Council is recruiting 2 full time teachers on one-year contracts to provide English language training to junior officers from the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) in Juba, South Sudan.
The British Council has been providing English language training to the SPLA In Juba since November 2010 as part of a capacity building development initiative funded by the UK Ministry of Defence. As a result of the programme’s success, it has been extended for a further year thereby creating a fantastic opportunity for two adventurous trainers looking to actively support the development of a new nation while immersing themselves in the world’s youngest capital city.
Since secession from Sudan in 2011, English has become the official language of South Sudan and the importance of English language training cannot be underestimated. Successful candidates will deliver semi-intensive English language training courses to groups of Junior Officers from the SPLA, many of whom have received little formal education, and who now require English to not only communicate, but to also complete the administrative functions they are assigned.

You should have a first degree, CELTA (or equivalent); a minimum of 2 years full time post qualification teaching experience. Current IELTS examiner status is highly desirable.

The British Council Sudan is recruiting for two full time teachers for its Khartoum office on two-year contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for career development and a chance to work within a new centre that is experiencing rapid growth in both the public and contract markets. The Teaching Centre currently offers a range of General English, Business English and IELTS preparation courses and will be looking to begin young learner courses in 2012. Teachers posted to teach on contracts may be required to teach Business English, Military English and Legal English in addition to other English for Specific Purposes Courses.
As a full time teacher you will work with a rapidly growing strong team of teachers, customer services staff and managers where English language development is the number one priority of the British Council. We are now recruiting a Senior Instructor (Senior Teacher) to work in our Chiang Mai Teaching Centre.
You will work as part of the management team which is made up of Centre Manager, Senior Instructor (Senior Teacher), YL Coordinator, Chiang Mai University Courses Coordinator and Assistant Customer Services Manager.
Your role will include overseeing operations at our teaching centre and offsite locations, developing YL and adult product for all centres in Thailand (4 in Bangkok and Chiang Mai) and delivering teacher training.

We are looking for independent, flexible and self-motivated teachers/teacher mentors to be part of an exiting new project with the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Teachers are needed for an exciting teaching assignment at the beach resort of Do Son, near the port city of Haiphong, Vietnam. You will train groups of young government officers who have been selected for advanced study abroad, and have a set period of time to achieve the necessary level of English. The courses are residential and intensive. The achievement targets will be challenging, but the students are of a high calibre and motivated. This will be an interesting and rewarding teaching situation, as you see real progress, and develop close working relationships with Vietnam’s future high ranking civil servants.
The sixth phase of the programme is underway with very positive feedback, and we are now recruiting for the seventh phase on a one year contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced corporate trainer to gain business development and management skills and will enable them to consider higher managerial roles in the future. Reporting to the TCM, you will be expected to work flexibly and independently to pursue new business opportunities, deliver training services and develop trainer capacity as well as feed into setting targets and forecasting corporate income. You will lead on corporate training, designing and delivering high quality training to clients and build up corporate training and client database.
You will deputise for TCM some of the time when TCM is absent (several times per year).
