Trans-national education policy dialogue

Dialogue objectives
Trans-national education (TNE) is rapidly evolving on a global scale, with early TNE models having been succeeded by a variety of strategic collaborative partnership approaches tailored to the national needs of individual markets.

This dialogue addressed the following key themes regarding trans-national education:

Strategies for TNE

  • National strategies and motivations for the delivery of TNE programmes.
  • National strategies and motivations for hosting TNE providers.
  • National policies for quality control and regulation.
  • National policies on the recognition of foreign degrees, with particular focus on degrees delivered by TNE.

Institutional motivation for providing TNE

  • Strategic issues facing institutions offering TNE programmes (both provider and host institution perspectives).

The challenges of setting up and delivering TNE partnerships

  • Governments, employers and providers working together to respond to these challenges.
  • Developing a multi-lateral approach.
