SUCCESS STORIES

People looking ahead - Credit Marcus Rose - Designer Mustapha Salay

'I found the British Council on the Internet. The professionalism of the teachers impresses me a lot. As part of the course I'm taking general English lessons, IELTS exam preparation and academic writing classes. The IELTS class is especially good, it's the kind of class where if you work hard enough you're bound to get a good score. I'll sit the IELTS exams in July. Recently I scored 6.0 in a mock test so I'm very close to achieving my goal'.
Akira, Student, Japan

'In October 2001 I was an absolute beginner and I was worried about the method and the teachers. Now I am not able to consider studying English in Italy without the British Council.

Basically I appreciate the qualified teaching staff, the large number of videos which you can borrow and the Self Access Centre ... I like the informal atmosphere and the polite administration staff. ... The British Council organizes a lot of social events... I've taken part in half a dozen of them and I've always enjoyed myself very much'.

Flavio, Lawyer, Italy

'...at the British Council the organization is very professional and satisfactory... the lessons are interesting and varied: you can practise grammar and speaking and you can learn a lot of new words almost every time.

The teachers are very smart and they make lessons less heavy because studying English in the evening, after work, is not very easy... the British Council organizes a lot of extra activities such as treasure hunts, quizzes, lectures and other things. In the end, I think I can learn English and enjoy myself at The British Council'.
