how to play vocab race

To begin select 1 player mode or 2 player mode. In 1 player mode you play against the computer. In 2 player mode you play against another learner (who must be sitting next to you at your computer).

The aim of the game is to answer questions correctly before the other player or the computer. You have 10 seconds to answer each question. The first player to answer 6 questions correctly is the winner.

In 1 player mode, the race begins and a multiple-choice question appears, with 3 possible answers labelled 1, 2 and 3. To select an answer, press 1, 2 or 3 at the top of your keyboard. If your answer is correct your horse will move ahead towards the finish line and you will see the message “Player 1 Correct” and also the number of correct answers you have got so far. If your answer is wrong one of the PC’s horses will move ahead towards the finish line and you will see the message “Player 1 Wrong” and the number of correct answers you have got so far. If you get 6 answers wrong, the PC wins the game.

Player 2 mode is the same as 1 player mode, but the 3 possible answers are labelled 1 or 7, 2 or 8 and 3 or 9. Player 1 presses the number 1, 2 and 3 keys to select his/her answers and Player 2 presses the number 7, 8 or 9 keys. If either player gets an answer wrong, the third horse (the PC’s horse) moves ahead towards the finish line. If the two players get 6 wrong answers between them, the PC wins the game.
