Space Industry in the UK

The UK has a thriving space industry that employs almost 16,000 people and has an annual turnover of around £2.9 billion.

Activity 1: Pre-reading task

Do you know what the UK does in space? You are going to read a text about the UK space industry. Before you read, do an activity to help you with some of the more difficult words and expressions in the text.

Activity 2: Reading

Go to Space Industry in the UK page and read the text.

Now try and complete an activity that tests your comprehension.

Activity 3: Follow-up task

Does your country have any involvement in space? Do you think it is useful to spend money on satellites and space exploration? Why/why not? Look at what some people have said about space. Do you agree/disagree? What do you think?
