Dear Mr. Choreographer

Dear Mr.Choreographer,
I must let you know
That my body's not invincible and it Is likely that
I'll break a bone or two
Or get worn out
Or exhausted
Or you may become too overbearing too soon
Or we may become romantically involved, but
Since when has that stopped our art?
Isn't that what we call it,
An art?
You see,
I think all of that technique-body-regulatory-mandate
That you've been feeding me
Is merde; there's some French syllabus for you.
You see,
I've always thought that you dance from the moment that you are born and
That nothing can stop a fire this brave
And that my body soars every moment of every waking day.
It isn't in a demi plie or a thousand arabesques;
It's in the soul,
Always has been...
It's in that gut of guts that only a dancer can possess;
It's in the pain of constant drilling and beating and brusing;
It's deep down in the centre, in the core, in the heart;
The place where real dreams ignite.
That single limited trap,
The human body,
Has let loose a force so magnificent,
So full of grandour,
So regal,
So hideously refined,
So humble
That this meek race was born with the unfading desire to dance,
Truly dance.
So dear Mr. Choreographer,
Understand that you'll never find another full of so much disgust for talent
(so much the use of it),
with so much heart and soul and passion and drive and daring as us...
Mr. Choreographer,
You've forgotten who pays your bills.
For in our art we create you and all the world.
We are the birthplace of infinity.
In the moment of our exhaustion there is an unending supply of the purest strength and energy,
So much so that we could stop this war in a blink.
But it's like the gift that slays the mind;
It is like the imprisoned genies of one thousand ancient nights,
We must suffer this angelical power and watch with dismay at your discontent.
Dear Mr. Choreographer,
I would gladly give you my burden, my passion, my soul,
But the world needs a super hero,
And ballet is the place of the unattainable dreams.
I will fly with this creativity, this art,
I will leap over you with such a grace that you find yourself blinded;
And that, Mr. Choreographer, will be your salvation.
Forevermore yours,
...if you'll have us...
The Few.

Ballet

Ballet is a slow, but fun form of dance
All you have to do is practice
Little baby steps
Love for dance will make it more fun
Easy? Of course! But remember to always try your best
Try it! It will never hurt

Dance Forever

Dance, dance, dance
Forever
Dance to show off,
To show the world
What you are capable
Of achieving

To feel the rush of
Excitement,
That indescribable feeling
You get of
Enjoyment, delight,
Pleasure.

Enjoy life,
Feel alive.
Face the crowd,
Be proud,
Perform.

Shine your brightest!
Love every moment of it,
Amaze them.

Dance

The movement can lift you off your feet.
The sounds are always so soft, and sweet.
The faster you move the better you look.
So many choices, all so much fun.
Freestyle, tap, ballet, lyrical, swing, hip hop, jazz, and point.
It makes me want to just jump and jump,
When you see this awesome sight,
You will want to try to dance and to perform,
Performing is an awesome feeling,
Having people smile and clap along,
But the ability to dance isn't in the shoe.
The true ability to dance is all inside you.

Untitled

I once tripped during ballet lesson
And fell from the floor to the ceiling
I broke my front back bone
And shouted
I called for a taxi
Then walked back home
And that’s why I tripped!
