Dance

British choreographers and dancers continually challenge and innovate.  In Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan we arrange visit programmes for British contemporary dance companies to perform, participate in seminars and run workshops.  In the past we have welcomed Random Dance to Almaty and Bishkek and Walker Dance/Park Music and the Russell Maliphant Company to Almaty and Astana. Find out more about selected UK companies and artists working across the disciplines of drama, dance, live art and street arts, or visit our global Dance page.

Films

From Four Weddings and a Funeral to Harry Potter and Bridget Jones’s Diary, British films continue to break box office records at home and abroad. In Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, we take part in the annual European Film Festival organised by the Delegation of the European Commission by providing a contemporary film from the UK.

The UK has an exceptionally rich literary tradition: Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens and Orwell all continue to have a global audience, while contemporary writing has many cultural influences.
We organise and support visits by British writers, poets and storytellers to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and promote British literature. Visit our global Literature page.
