OPENING DOORS - BROADENING HORIZONS

The British Council is the UK's leading international organisation for educational and cultural relations.

A registered charity, we were founded in 1934 and currently work in 109 countries worldwide.

OUR WORK IN KAZAKHSTAN AND KYRGYZSTAN
We have been active in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan since 1994, and work with artists, educators, learners and professionals in many fields.  So whether you want to learn English, study in Britain, take a UK exam or discover new ideas from Britain - this is the place to start.

We create opportunities in education and cultural exchange, and work with British and local partners in the areas of society, development and governance.  We showcase UK creativity and innovation and put local people in touch with people in the UK, for the mutual benefit of Britain, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

As the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations we develop relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We are committed to equality of opportunity and inclusion, and to positive action to promote this. We believe that an Equal Opportunity Policy helps to ensure that there is no unjustified discrimination in the recruitment, retention, training and development of staff on the basis of gender including transgender, marital status (which includes civil partnerships), sexual orientation, religion and belief, political opinion, ethnicity/race, work pattern, age, disability or HIV/AIDS status, socio-economic background, spent convictions, trade union activity or membership, on the basis of having or not having dependants, or any other irrelevant grounds.

WHERE WE ARE IN KAZAKHSTAN
We have two centres – our main office and information centre in Almaty, and an office in Astana. If you’d like any further information, please email us.
