CPE -
Certificate in Proficiency in English is a very advanced level exam which recognises your ability to use English in a wide range of contexts, going beyond a good knowledge of vocabulary and grammar to actually using the language.
Am I able to sit for this exam?
CPE is for learners who have reached a high level of language skills and are able to function effectively in almost any English-speaking context.
You are approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educational native speaker.
What does it test?
Five English language skills are tested:
- Reading
- Writing
- Use of English
- Listening
- Speaking.
When can I do the test?

e-mail at the beginning of the school year or as soon as possible.
SPECIAL NEEDS
We aim to do our best to cater for candidates with special needs. We will do all we can to enable candidates to understand test questions and ways of giving answers. All candidates, irrespective of their disability, will be assessed fairly and objectively.
Candidates who require special arrangements are asked to contact us before they submit their application. Relevant supporting materials such as medical certificates should be submitted during registration.
