The Said Foundation Scholarships for the year 2012/2013 is now Closed . Deadline was 31 January 2012.
The Said Foundation offers a number of scholarships annually. It also offers joint scholarships with some selected universities in the UK.
Said Foundation scholarships
The Said Foundation is a charity based in the UK. One of its aims is to promote education and development in the Middle East. To this end, the Foundation offers a number of scholarships annually to enable graduates to pursue postgraduate courses and other training in subjects to be considered on their merits at universities or other institutions in the United Kingdom. The scholarships are open to citizens of certain member states of the Arab League and are tenable for up to one year. The Foundation does not fund undergraduate studies.
From 2012/13, the Foundation will offer one or two PhD/DPhil scholarships a year at Oxford and Cambridge universities only.These scholarships will be of three years’ duration, for further details about PhD/DPhil scholarships please read this document
Aims And Objectives
The aim of Said foundation Scholarship Programme is to offer an opportunity to young people aged up to 40 years from Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria who wish to study or train in the UK.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should fulfil the following requirements
Suitability
The applicant must sign a binding undertaking to apply the skills and knowledge they have gained in one of the Foundation's target countries (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine); he/ she should be in need of partial or full funding and be able to demonstrate their future potential and the usefulness of the subject of study to the Arab world.

The Foundation has partnership schemes with the universities listed below. You MUST apply to these universities if they have courses meeting your needs.
Cosponsors
The Foundation is happy to consider you for a scholarship if you have obtained partial funding from other organisations, your employer or have funds available from personal sources.
