WHAT ARE CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH YOUNG LEARNERS TESTS?
Cambridge Young Learner English Tests (also known as YLE or CYLET) are a series of tests for children aged 7 to 12 who are learning English as a foreign language.
LEVELS:
STARTERS: for children from the age of 7, after about 100 hours of English language learning.
MOVERS: a typical candidate is 8-11 and has completed 175 hours of English language learning.
FLYERS: a typical candidate is 9-12 and has completed 250 hours of English language learning.
WHAT ARE THE TESTS LIKE?
designed to be accessible and interesting
focus on simple, relevant and meaningful language use
encourage effective teaching and learning
with no fail grades, they provide every student with a reward for his or her efforts
test all four language skills - listening, speaking, writing and reading
create a positive attitude to testing
represent a first step on the Cambridge ladder of achievement in English language learning
are equivalent ot the level of Cambridge KET
HOW CAN I ENROL MY CHILD FOR ONE?
You can arrange tests at any time of year (but you will need to register at least 8 weeks in advance) at our British Council Centres in Rome, Milan, Naples.
