We choose Bandung because of its reputation as a creative city. This reputation is acquired from the vast development of creative industries in the city, which is especially influenced by the number of its young inhabitants (60 percent are below 40 years old).
Aside from that fact, for a long time Bandung has been the city where private and public universities are located, which make the individual culture flourish in this city.
Besides its creativity, Bandung's population—especially the artist—still is a market oriented city. Its strategic location makes it often used as the industry and business corridors for the nearing area, especially the Banten province (Industrial Area), Jakarta (National center of economy) and become the accumulating point of local products from other cities in East Java.
In this occasion the digital and traditional artists from the UK, D-fuse and Onedotzero, will perform. They will show how a creative person influences and is influenced by the city.
By the combination of photography, digital media, graphics, music and film, the audio visual artist and London based VJ will perform the restlessness of artist when it comes to issues about space, freedom, identity, communalism, connectedness in the city. Their performance will took place in Kickfest, a festival where clothing companies from Bandung, 14 cities in Indonesia as well as three countries (Philipines, Taipei and Malaysia), will participate.
The Re-imagining the city activities will take place in three different parts. Find out more
