What is British Council?
We are the United Kingdom's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.
What do we do?
We connect Indonesians with the best learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK. We also want to keep building upon the many excellent relationships that already exist between our two countries.
How to join our activities?
Some of our activities are open to the public and some are not. Please check this website regularly to get further information.
Who is the contact person for general questions regarding British Council?
How can I apply for funding from the British Council Indonesia?
We are not a grant-giving organisation in the traditional sense. Rather, we connect Indonesians with the UK by offering opportunities to hook up with the latest UK ideas and expertise, and helping to create and nurture lasting partnerships that are mutually beneficial to the UK and Indonesia. We share the UK's most dynamic, creative output by providing great advice and the latest information on the UK as well as producing or being involved with many events every year and supporting relationships between UK and Indonesia communities.
Where is the British Council Library?
The British Council Library was handed over to the Ministry of Education in 2004. Consequently, it is now under the management of the Ministry of Education, and the name has been changed into 'Perpustakaan Pendidikan Nasional'.

How is the collection compared to the old British Council Library?
We were supported the Diknas Library until mid 2006. This included the development of collections, human resources, systems, tools, and any other equipment needed in the library. The collections are considered to be the same or even better than the ones we used to have in the British Council. Collections will have more wide-ranging subjects, not only in English but also in Bahasa, and even from other countries.
