With a view to helping you enjoy the best possible experience of living and working in the UK, we at the British Council will provide you with all the information and advice you need to help you make the most of this
exciting opportunity.

Our team members, based in Delhi and regional offices in Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata, will:

make pre-departure arrangements    
procure UK visas    
brief on academic programmes and living in the UK   
give information about travel across the UK   
give information about accommodation and check-in at hotels    
arrange for access to various educational institutions and their facilities    
brief you on shopping and sight-seeing and enable you to experience a dynamic, contemporary and multicultural UK first-hand   
provide access to learning and training opportunities at our first Knowledge and Learning Centre in Delhi and offer you one year's free membership at one of the libraries across India on return   
provide professional support/advice on welfare issues if required   
provide 'arrange, meet and greet' services on arrival in the UK   
brief you at your place of study   
provide support/advice on academic issues   
organise timely and accurate payments of allowances into your bank account or through travel agents   
organise full departure arrangements back to India   
help you with finding suitable accommodation in UK.   

We can also help you decide on a suitable programme at our Open House sessions and we hope to keep in contact after your return via the Association of British Scholars network.
