Charles Wallace India Trust
Iqbal Bahadur Sarin Visiting Fellowship
The successful journalist will be attached to the Reuter Foundation at Green College, University of Oxford, for one term (three months) and will work on a project which he or she will have outlined in his or her application, and attend seminars and discussions at the Foundation. During the tenure of the fellowship short visits will be made to newspapers, journals, the BBC or other agencies, and if the opportunity occurs a short attachment may be made to one of them.

The Reuter Foundation at Green College, University of Oxford
The applicant must:
be an Indian citizen
have an excellent command of English
be a graduate from an Indian University
have at least five years full-time journalistic experience
be in the age group 28-48
have a valid Indian passport.
The applications received will be short-listed by the British Council, Delhi, in consultation with the Reuter Foundation and the Charles Wallace India Trust. This will be followed by personal interviews organised by the British Council in New Delhi in early June. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
The fellowship covers international economy return airfare, a monthly stipend for three months from which living and accommodation expenses are to be paid and a sum to cover local travel to agreed sites outside Oxford plus administration expenses incurred by the Reuter Foundation.

Candidates should submit the following:
a completed application form, including a personal statement setting out professional credo and value
an up-to-date CV (not more than two pages)
copies of three recently published articles
an outline of a project that the candidate would like to undertake while at Green College (not more than two pages).
These should be sent by courier in an envelope superscribed 'CWIT/Iqbal Sarin Memorial Fellowship' to British Council, New Delhi by March for the session starting October.
