On your marks, get set, GO….
It’s that time of the year again when the leading lights of the literary world line-up against each other in a bid to grab the world’s most important literary prize. Last year, the winner of this dash was our very own Arvind Adiga who out-sprinted the other contestants with his gripping book called The White Tiger. This year too, the competition is going to be fierce with two time winner J M Coetzee lining up along side, previous winner A S Byatt, Hilary Mantel, Sarah Waters, Simon Mawer and Adam Foulds, who at 34, is the youngest on the list.
To make things a little more interesting, we are giving you ringside seats for the race along with an opportunity to win some exciting prizes while you are at it.
What do you have to do?
Simple. Just read through the synopses of each of the six shortlisted titles and vote for the one that you find most interesting.
Your votes will decide how quickly these books zip towards the finish line at the specially created race tracks at our centres. We will also be giving away copies of the shortlisted books to some lucky winners so do make it a point to vote for your favourite and drop-in at your nearest centre to be a part of the excitement.
The winner of the 2009 Man Booker Prize for Fiction will be revealed on Tuesday, 6 October 2009 at a dinner at London's Guildhall.
