The British Council is represented in Chandigarh by the British Library. Since its inception in the year 2000 in Chandigarh, the past ten years, the library has expanded its collection to include the latest resources on a wide range of subjects that will be of interest to you.

These include Computer Science, Information Technology, All Branches of Engineering, Management, English Language Teaching, Self Development and Medicine. Timely, accurate information is critical in today’s highly competitive world, to meet the information needs of our members, the library has access to a wide range of print and electronic resources and a highly dedicated team of staff to provide world class customer care to our members.

EVENTS    

Enrich yourself through plays, screenings, conferences, self development workshops and English Language Teaching workshops that we organise from time to time. Find out the events of this month.   

READERS CLUB    

Readers Club is a forum for book lovers to communicate, discuss and interact which encourage and cultivate reading habit among members. Any member of British Library can join this readers club. Readers’ club member meets every second Saturday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in British Library.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING WORKSHOPS    

The basic aim of these workshops is on using British Library’s English Language Teaching resources effectively for teaching English and to discuss attitudes towards teaching – writing, speaking, reading and listening.

IELTS
