The above workshop was organised on behalf of the Council of Europe and in collaboration with the Behaviour and Attendance Unit of the DfES, based at the University of Reading.
Promoted and advertised via the Council of Europe and their liaison contact in each country.
The trainers were Chris Gittins, lead UK adviser for behaviour and attendance in schools, Graham Robb, UK government adviser for violence reduction in schools, Julie Hough, UK government adviser for training and development in behaviour and attendance in schools, Moyra Healy, UK government adviser for Learning Support Units in schools.
There were 63 applications and 35 participants were selected by the British Council with the widest representation possible from Council of Europe countries. Applications were invited from teacher trainers who would act as multipliers. In reality, applications arrived from a wide range of backgrounds and wherever possible we selected participants with teacher training experience.
