Find partners

How to link up with other schools and colleges across Europe

If you wish to get involved in a Comenius School Partnership, or a Regio Partnership, or you would like to job shadow a colleague in another European country, then you will need to find partners. There are a number of ways in which we can help you to find partner schools and colleges.

Attend a contact seminar
Comenius contact seminars are partner finding events. They allow teachers from different countries to meet and form partnerships, and are usually based on a specific theme. If you are new to Comenius, then a contact seminar represents one of the easiest ways to develop a partnership from scratch. If you gain a place at a contact seminar then you will receive a grant to cover the costs. Contact seminars usually take place between September and January every year. For information on forthcoming seminars visit our contact seminar page

Get involved in other Comenius activity
Not all Comenius activity requires partners, but all Comenius activity can help generate future partnerships:

Comenius In-Service Training - Attending a course or job shadowing in another European country not only provides you with new teaching ideas, but also enables you to develop lasting links with other teachers from Europe
Host a Comenius Assistant - Comenius Assistants often get involved in European project work in their host school. An Assistant may be able to help your school to find partners by using existing contacts with schools in their home country

Use a partner-finding database
You can get online if you are looking for a partner.institutions:

eTwinning is a simple way of finding partner schools in Europe and working on a range of exciting curriculum projects

Contact your local authority
