Hong Kong has a stunning mix of urban buzz and dramatic countryside, often within a short distance of each other. Hong Kong’s best beaches are located on Hong Kong Island and in the New Territories, and its many country parks are accessible and offer well-marked trails. As a major tourist destination, Hong Kong has many other attractions including the Disneyland and Ocean Park theme parks, an international wetlands park, Giant Buddha and Ngong Ping 360 cable car on Lantau Island. Western and Chinese films (the latter with English subtitles), performing and visual arts can be seen along with international and local Canto-pop concerts. There are international arts and film festivals. The city celebrates both Western and Chinese traditional festivals, often with great fanfare. There are also convenient opportunities for travel to nearby Macao, Mainland China and countries throughout Asia.
