Overview
This exciting project is a collaboration between the Premier League and the British Council. There are two elements in this project.
In the sports element, 44 coaches and physical education teachers from Hong Kong will be trained in cutting-edge coaching, nutrition and aspects of community-building. For 6 days, 4 Premier League coaches will put these trainees through the pace of world-class football coaching.
Running concurrently is the English element of the project. English learning materials have been created to enhance English learning through football. Complementing this is a website with frequently updated contents on the Premier League: http://premierskills.britishcouncil.org/
The Premier Skills has so far touched the lives of 1,000 coaches, 25,000 teachers and 2 million learners of English in more than 15 countries. In the China region, this project will be running in three other cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian from May – August 2009.
