FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY HELLAS (FORTH)
A multidisciplinary research centre based on the island of Crete, with research institutes in Patras and Thessaloniki. Its institutes are closely linked to Greek Universities in the same location, but function as independent research bodies under the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.

Life sciences institute, closely affiliated to the Institut Pasteur of France, but operating under the supervision of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.
