Cambridge ESOL Recognition

State recognition in Greece

People take the Cambridge ESOL exams for different reasons: personal satisfaction or evidence of having achieved a high level in their language education. The exams also offer a solution to practical needs that will help you to achieve your life goals.

The following certificates are recognised by ASEP and the Ministry of Education in Greece:

Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) First Certificate in English (FCE)
Preliminary English Test (PET)

Each of these certificates signifies a different level of English. This means that whenever a company in the state sector (i.e. banks, OTE telephone company, power and electricity company etc.) wishes to hire employees and requires a certain level of knowledge in English, they will accept one of the above certificates. To find out which of these certificates is acceptable, you should contact them directly.

The Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) has long been one of the few prerequisites for obtaining an English teaching licence in Greece.
