MEET IRVINE WELSH

Meet the author of Trainspotting

In January 2005, you'll have the opportunity to meet cult author Irvine Welsh, creator of the immortal Trainspotting, his first novel, which went on to become a hugely successful film.

His work exposes the seedy and dark underside of the city of Edinburgh, exploring themes of violence, drug abuse and criminal activity, as well as examining friendships and loyalty. His most recent novel, Porno, revisits the characters and themes we met in Trainspotting. Both of these novels, and others by Irvine, have been translated into Greek by Oxy Publications.

When: Wednesday 19 January 2005, 9:00 p.m.
Where: BIOS, 84 Pireos Street, Athens 153 65, Telephone +30 210 342 5335
