In collaboration with The European Center for the Translation of Literature and the Human Sciences (EKEMEL), we invite applications for the European Literary Translation Award 2007 from translators or publishers with an interest in contemporary literature from the UK.
The prize will be awarded to the translator for the best translation into Greek of either a contemporary UK novel, short story, poem or play.
The translation must have been published in Greece during 2006.
The winner will receive a cash prize of €3,000 and one month’s accommodation at the House of Literature in Lefkes, Paros.
Closing date for submission of entries: 31 January 2007
And the winner is ...
A shortlist of three, from the 26 entries we received, will be announced in early June. The winner of this prize, as well as prizes for translations from the other major European languages, will be announced at an awards ceremony.
