COLIN RENFREW IN ATHENS

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to attend a talk entitled Looting the Past: from Desecrated Tombs to International Museums by leading British archaeologist Colin Renfrew.

Professor Renfrew has conducted numerous excavations in Greece and is currently Emeritus Disney Professor of Archaeology, University of Cambridge, and formerly Director of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge.

His talk is taking place in the framework of History Lost, a multimedia travelling exhibition, hosted by the Benaki Museum (11 September–22 October 2006), about the illicit excavation of and trade in antiquities in Greece, Cyprus and the world. The exhibition is co-ordinated by AΝΕΜΟΝ Productions.

The talk will be in English.
