IELTS – the International English Language Testing System - is the world’s leading international English language test for higher education and migration. It is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL, the British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia, who between them have more than 150 years experience in English language testing.

IELTS uses a nine point scoring system to ensure consistency in measuring and reporting test scores. Candidates receive scores for each of the four language skills and an overall Band Score on a scale from 1 (non user) to 9 (expert user).

IELTS is able to provide guidance to recognising institutions to help them set the right IELTS Band Score to ensure their international students get their academic and campus life off to the best possible start. In addition, the free IELTS Test Report Form Verification Service, available on the IELTS website, enables registered organisations to authenticate test report forms and safeguard against fraudulent report forms.
