UKCISA

The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) is the UK's national advisory body promoting and serving the interests of international students and those who work with them.  It has over 500 institutional members including every university in the UK and the majority of further education colleges that are active internationally.  It liaises with government and advises on all aspects of the international student experience including legislation, regulations and policy which relate to fee status, visas, immigration, employment and other rights, restrictions and entitlements.  It also now leads for the UK on the Prime Minister's Initiative (PMI) 'Student Experience' project, supports institutional innovation and has recently launched 2 major new websites - www.studentcalculator.org.uk/international (helping students to budget) and www.prepareforsuccess.org.uk (providing open access, pre-arrival study skills material).

Founded in 1968, 2008  marks UKCISA's 40th anniversary of service to international students and the sector.  A range of UKCISA's latest reports will be available on it's stand - covering regulatory aspects, surveys and research and aspects of good practice - and copies of 'Mobility Matters' - a guide to the last 40 years of the UK international student story.
