The global market for English language courses research

Download PDF Document Review of the global market for English language courses (1.39MB)

In 2006, following feedback from the ELT sector and in recognition of a shortage of objective market information for the ELT market, a decision was taken to commission market research into the global market for English language courses. The last similar study of this nature was carried out in 2000. The new research is intended to cover several main areas, namely:

  • a study of the main destination markets, including the UK and its competitors;
  • the main source markets for the UK and its competitors;
  • an analysis of the global market trends;
  • an analysis of the market opportunities for English language providers.

This research was funded by the Prime Minister's Initiative and the Education UK Partnership. The report is available to all UK education providers. Accreditation UK institutions can also download the report from the Accreditation UK website.
