The participation fee includes:

• Standard table (45cm by 180cm) and six chairs (three for institution representatives, three for visitors). The back panel is 210cm high by 180cm wide. Each participant has a space 240 cm wide, including the table;
• Additional room and equipment hire;
• Advertising and publicity;
• Hire of temporary staff and interpreters;
• Travel from the breakfast meeting to British Council Tokyo;
• Freight between the Tokyo venue and the Osaka venue.

Stand sharing will be made available at a premium of twenty per cent on the stand costs.

Please note that the participation fee does not include international or domestic travel, accommodation, subsistence or freight, except where stated.

Proposed additional activities
Meetings with Japanese representatives
In 2004, side events were successfully introduced in both Tokyo and Osaka and they will be included this year. Feedback from past events indicated that UK participants found it hard to locate specific local participants at a traditional reception, as the guests moved around. Therefore, we will hold a more structured event that will allow UK representatives to meet with contacts from the following three groups:

1. Agents (Tokyo and Osaka) - educational agents, looking for partner institutions in the UK, will be invited and brief profiles of participating agents will be prepared for this meeting.
2. Japanese institutions (Tokyo only) - we will hold this informal meeting session in collaboration with the Japan Network for International Education (JAFSA). JAFSA is the largest network of international educational exchange specialists in Japan. They have some 200 corporate members and 400 individual members. Most of the corporate members are universities. JAFSA member institutions, interested in links with UK institutions, will be invited to this session. JAFSA will prepare some information material, including brief profiles of the participating JAFSA member institutions.
3. Career advisers from international schools (Tokyo only) - career advisers from international schools will be invited for a 'round table' discussion forum where they will be able to exchange information with the UK participants about the interests and needs of international school students in Japan and recent developments in UK higher education. This session will be held in the latter part of the afternoon, so it will be possible both to attend this session and to talk with agents and Japanese institutions.

Representatives from these groups will each be given a table and UK representatives will be free to circulate and talk to those with whom they are interested in working. There will also be a meeting with careers advisers from international schools held during the event in Tokyo.

All the above participants will be invited to a reception which will be held following the meetings. Representatives from vocational colleges, Japanese high schools and journalists will also be invited to this reception.

Mini fairs at two international schools in Osaka / Kobe
An international school will be visited in the morning and a second in the afternoon.

Ten to 15 institutions will be able to exhibit. Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, with priority given in the following order:

1. Japan Country Partnership members
2. Core Partnership members
3. Non-Partnership members

This additional activity will be free of charge. Please indicate on the application form if you are interested in attending this event.

Visas are not required for UK passport holders. Other passport holders should check with their travel agent or contact the Consulate or Embassy of the country they plan to visit.
