The exhibition in Pune will be held over two days following feedback from participants at the February 2008 exhibition.
This year, we have set a target to reduce our overall exhibition costs by 12 per cent. The total exhibition costs have risen in India as follows:
The main reason that the target reduction has not been met in Pune is that the exhibition will be held over two days rather than one.
In the remaining venues, there are several reasons for the cost increases. The cost of hiring suitable venues for the exhibitions has increased across India. This has particularly increased costs in Bangalore, where it has been necessary to change the venue used in February 2008 due to security concerns. The increasing cost of newspaper advertising has affected the costs, but advertising is a vital component of the successful promotion of the exhibitions. In November 2007, 35 per cent of visitors found out about the exhibitions from local newspaper advertisements, and this increased further to 45 per cent of visitors in February 2008. The cost of hiring stand assistants has also risen, as it has been necessary to attract higher quality assistants for the event.
The participation fees stated above incorporate a 'credit crunch' contingency and are the maximum that participants will be charged. If this additional contingency is not called upon, participants will be invoiced for less than the maximum fee.
