Education UK exhibition China

18 October to 4 November 2008

An Download PDF Document event report (243KB)   [Education UK Partnership password required] is available.

As you will be aware, on 12 May 2008, there was a tragic earthquake in the Sichuan province of China. The earthquake caused serious damage to some areas in Sichuan and some neighbouring provinces in the south-west of China. All organisations and individuals in China have been actively contributing to and supporting the country’s relief efforts. Fortunately, apart from a temporary closure of the British Council office in Chongqing, our operations in China have remained largely unaffected. We have received confirmation from our Chinese official partner that this event will be going ahead as planned in all eight cities. Preparation and promotion work will be carried out to ensure that the event is a success for our exhibitors.

This event, the China Education Expo 2008 with Education UK, is an international exhibition where the British Council organises a UK pavilion as part of the wider exhibition. For Changsha, however,  the rest of the country pavilions will not be visiting that city, and the British Council will be the sole country pavilion at the exhibition there, i.e. it will be a 'UK only' exhibition licensed by the Ministry of Education in China.
