ARTISTIC POLICY
Filter Theatre brings together actors, musicians, technicians, designers, writers and directors to create both new works of original theatre and thrilling incarnations of existing texts. Filter encourages a strong group dynamic in its work, creating a playful devising language. Filter’s shows create an on-stage fusion of live and recorded music, naturalistic and stylised physical movement and video images. The live chemistry between these elements is a vital aspect of the company’s work.
REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Fresh, immediate and open, not just in its storytelling but also in its relationship with the audience.’ The Guardian (Twelfth Night)
‘The cumulative sensory assault feels more like a rock concert than theatre… Rarely has an old classic felt fresher.’ The Independent (The Caucasion Chalk Circle)
‘Filter’s sheer boldness of invention and its ground-breaking use of sound makes it a company to watch.’ Evening Standard (Faster)
