Bring the Noise

Bring the Noise brings together musicians, artist and filmmakers from Africa and the UK to collaborate, create and perform. Artists will explore issues of identity, culture and heritage in new pieces of work that will be performed across Africa and the UK. Click here for more information about Bring the Noise.

Rock Music Rock Art

'Rock Music Rock Art' is a unique synthesis of Ugandan and British music and art which has its UK launch on 1 October 2008 at London's brand new cultural centre, Kings Place.

Are you interested in music from the UK? Want to hear all about the vibrant and diverse landscape of the UK's music scene, from hip hop to folk? Whatever you do – whether you’re an artistic programmer from outside the UK, a fan of music from the UK or a musician - you’ve come to the right place.

From club-based DJ and VJ initiatives to jazz and traditional and folk to classical, we cover all genres of music. The Music Team in London works with our overseas network of arts managers and partners to plan, resource, deliver and evaluate high-impact arts projects involving professional artists and organisations from the UK. We aim to promote new images of Britain, to establish long-term partnerships abroad, and to attract young audiences. We also have our own weekly radio show The Selector featuring the best new music from the UK.

What We Do

Every year we support a huge range of different music projects around the world, from small performances and workshops to full-scale music concerts. Find out about some recent and forthcoming projects   

Music Genres

We work across all musical genres including electronic and club-based music, soul, hip hop and UK garage, classical, opera, music theatre & vocal, jazz, alternative music (guitar-based), roots (incorporating asian fusion and reggae) and traditional and folk music. We also do specific work in the fields of arts and culture for development, broadcast and new media plus workshops and residencies.

The Selector radio show

Check out the website for our award winning weekly radio show – it’s packed with band and record label links plus information about UK music and the show itself.
