ELTeCS projects

Latin America 2005    

Proposals are assessed by the ELTeCS Latin America project proposals committee. The committee consists of four members: the Co-ordinator, two regional ELTeCS representatives, and Manager English Language Networking. (If members of the committee put forward project proposals of their own, they stand down from the committee for the relevant meeting.)

1. First International Convention for English Co-ordinators and ELT Managers in Peru, 29-30 April 2005

Project Manager: Arturo Field, Camelot Teacher Training Centre, Lima, Peru

Aims: To bring together English Co-ordinators and ELT Managers/Directors of Studies throughout Latin America to enable them to improve management practice and professional networking in the region.

2. Initial EFL teacher education in Latin America: identifying common ground for innovation, 2005-06

Project Manager: Telma Gimenez, Universidade de Estadual de Londrina, Brazil

Aims: To enable the comparison of teacher education practices and student teachers´ development in Brazil and Chile in order to learn how initial EFL teacher education can be best carried out in Latin America.
