Up to 40 Chevening scholarships are offered by the British Embassy each year to enable Egyptians to undertake postgraduate study in the UK, giving them the opportunity to become familiar with the UK and gain skills that will be of direct benefit to Egypt on their return.

In 2007/08, Chevening scholarships were supported by HSBC Bank, BP Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, Shell Egypt and British Airways.
