The aim of the project, organised in partnership with the National Centre for External Evaluation of Education, is to set up a group of professional test-item writers who will be able to link assessment to the CEF (Common European Framework), construct good language proficiency tests and participate in large-scale testing programmes.
Trainer training courses cover the following:
an understanding of conceptual bases of language test design and development
an understanding of fundamental issues and concerns involved in the appropriate use of language tests
the ability to design, develop, evaluate and use language tests appropriate for a given purpose, context, and test takers
