Any school wishing to enter candidates should provide details of the venue on which the tests are to be administered. The premises should be suitable in regard to the size and ambience of rooms and particularly in relation to the conditions for administering the listening test.Where school premises do not conform to the above, the organiser will look for an alternative site.

The dates and time of the test are set and agreed with the British Council Examinations Services Manager.
PROVISIONAL ENTRY LISTS  MUST BE RECEIVED at least SIX WEEKS before the intended test date.
The final entry form containing candidates' names should be received two weeks before the agreed test date.

The minimum number of candidates at each level of the test, on each test date, is 10. Entries of less than 10 candidates may be accepted at the discretion of the Examination Services Manager.

Young Learners Tests have been designed for children between the ages of  7 and 12. Given the nature of the tests in relation to the specific requirements of the age group, Cambridge ESOL recommends that children outside this age range should NOT be entered for the tests. For further clarification please contact the local Examinations Services Manager.Young Learners Tests have three components. There are two written, paper-and-pencil components,  which vary in length depending on the level.
There is also one-to-one speaking component, involving an external oral examiner.
The whole test can be taken on the same day but there should be at least  a ten minute break between any two components.
The listening component MUST ALWAYS BE TAKEN FIRST, and it is expected that the Speaking component will be administered on or before the date of the written components.

ALL THE COMPONENTS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN A WINDOW PERIOD OF FIVE DAYS.

For the Reading and Writing papers candidates require a pen or pencil and for the Listening test candidates also need a  SET OF COLOURED PENS OR PENCILS, comprising ALL the colours listed in the syllabus except for gold and silver.

The use of dictionaries or other study materials is not allowed. The candidates desk should be free of all papers and equipment except the question papers and writing materials.

Young Learners Tests should be taken under normal test conditions

• The level of external noise and the room's heating, lighting, ventilation must be  
  considered.
• No display material, such as posters or wall charts, which might be helpful to the candidates should be visible.
• The listening component will be played on a cassette player and must be clearly audible to all the candidates in the room.
• The candidates must be seated far enough apart so that they cannot see each other's work, and must not communicate with each other once the test has started.
• Two rooms are needed for the speaking component; a test room equipped with a table and at least two chairs, and a waiting room supervised by the usher, who accompanies each child into the test room and introduces him/her to the examiner. Children who have taken the test should not be allowed to re-enter the waiting room.

Results - AWARDS (certificates) will be despatched within two weeks of the receipt of test materials in Cambridge.

All candidates who take part in the complete test will receive a certificate.

Payments for the tests are made by the school after actual entries are reported and should be sent to the British Council Croatia.
